God's Work

About three weeks ago Gary called Grandma Monten and set up a time to come visit for Christmas. We were to visit, do a gift exchange and have dinner. What ended up happening was really quite different. Just two days before we saw on the news that a major wind storm had come through their town and things were not too pretty. I called and spoke to Roxi and let her know that we were going to still come up but that we would help with the clean up rather than have a nice sit down visit. When we arrived we went right to work. Randy gave us a direction as to where to start and where to put the pile. Then we were on our own. Ethan, Gary and I spent close to four hours cleaning up branches and we did not even finish.
This is usually a grassy back yard, not today!

(nice photo Ethan!)We worked until dark and made huge progress but only wished we could have finished.

This pile looks tiny here, compared to real life!
The best gift exchange of the day was us getting to help Grandma all the while Avery and Grandma played inside. They played dolls, made art projects, and just chatted the hours away. That, is one of the best gifts of all. Time, time that will never happen again. Time that can not now be taken away. The best gift.
