Avery's Birthday Party

We had Avery's birthday party at our home ON her birthday. She picked out the orange and pink theme from the party store...granted she could have picked Elmo, Dora, Princess, something with a theme that was already done...but no, she picked orange and pink. That gave me an open door as to what in the world we were going to do. With the weather so nice hear lately and the fact that we now have lady bugs, caterpillars (soon to be butterflies) and praying mantis eggs growing here we decided to have a ladybug (and butterfly) picnic theme. The night before her party she was really concerned that her ladybugs needed to come to the party. I assured her they would be there.

This was the best way for us to start our party set up! Ethan being the big brother that he is was a big help. (When he wasn't bouncing off the walls from the sugar, see earlier post.)

Jana, Josslyn, and Jace making door hangers

Riana, Avery and Charlise

So beautiful! (Now I know whose door hanger is on the counter, so glad for photos!)
Could Ashlyn be any cuter!

Then we did story time and read a couple of books. The Hungry Caterpillar and a cricket book.

Then, we painted rocks into ladybugs.
Until it was time for food.

grapes, strawberries, and fish crackers

Avery had been waiting all day to open this one!
"Thank you Josslyn."

We are so very grateful to be able to celebrate Avery's birthday with her good friends. We really enjoyed our time with them and can't wait to have them over for more play dates in the future.
