"Come here Mom, I can do a front flip!" Instead of getting all upset at this my reply is, "wait, let me get the camera." Then I watch this happen and wonder...is this the appropriate response I should be having? I really don't like the kids jumping off the furniture and I really do like my kids to be able to walk upright...a.k.a. without a broken neck!
Then I think, who signed this kid up for gymnastics anyway?!?! Oh yeah, it was me. I then give him a high five and say "way to go kid!" Cheers to kids learning new things and NOT getting broken today.
