Goin' to See-atle

Today was just an amazing day. It started off with a plan of getting peaches frozen, going to Seattle to play. What it turned into was just glorious. We started with peaches, got to my school to decorate my bulletin board for my class, had lunch, naps, made cobbler, got tons of laundry done, headed to Seattle with well rested children and a picnic dinner.

At one point Staci told the kids we were planning to go to Seattle. The rest of the afternoon Avery kept asking, "mama, we goin' to SEE atle?" Not sure what she thinks "atle" is but she seemed happy to get there.
Staci teaching Ethan all about peeling peaches and why we boil them before taking off the skin. Ethan says, "Staci, I am glad you are here. We always get to do stuff."
Relaxing at dinner. This time was great. Nothing and no one was in a hurry.

The International Fountain, Seattle Center.
Ready, but skeptical.
No reason to wait, jump right in! I think Ethan ran around for at least fifteen minutes without stopping.
Time for a break.
Checking things out.
Not sure where she gets this stance.
Oh...maybe from me?
Touch and RUN!
Laying on the concrete was warm and relaxing. We were talking about the beautiful clouds and what they looked like. Just savoring the moment.
Then we were interrupted, gladly.
How can this smile not brighten the day!
Cheese!

We found the Orcas to slide on...

And the slug too.
After all the running the kids needed a snack. Here they are tasting each others choices.

On the way back to the car we found yet more water. There is a wadding pool tucked away in secret spot. Well we found it! Ethan says, "can I get just a little wet?" Why not I replied. That lead to a twenty minute splash session at eight o'clock at night. It was awesome! There was no screaming the whole two block walk back to the car in soaking wet clothes. In fact, Avery looked at me with big eyes and says, "mama, look at the beautiful moon!" Priceless.

This day for me was just perfect. We had not much of an agenda to follow and we really went with the flow of the day. Taking time to enjoy each other and the beauty around us. The only thing that was missing was Gary. We are so thankful for all his hard work that allows us to have these fun times.
