We were supposed to have a big party today to celebrate Avery turning 1 but Leah was feeling rather horrible so we kept things low key. We had to cancel the party and celebrate with just the four of us; which was quite wonderful and enjoyable. Leah had enough energy to go to the park for a while and let the kids burn off some energy before we filled with pizza and cake. Here are some picture from our day to celebrate our wonderful daughter.
Avery got this cool rocking chair from Grandma and Grandpa VonFeldt. It's a little big for Avery (but what isn't?) and she'll surely have many years to enjoy this great gift.
Since the weather was so nice, we went to the park for a little bit. Avery really enjoyed the attention her brother was giving her. We had so much fun :)

We went on a little walk and Ethan rode his bike. He got a little ahead of us and decided to take a break on a park bench and wait for us, which made for a wonderful photo opportunity.
Lovely Shot!

Let's have some cake!!! Avery was the cleanest 1 year old I've ever seen eat cake. She ate with only one hand and didn't have it in her hair or all over her face. I'm sure things will be different next year but we'll count our blessings this year.
Daddy got Avery some miniature roses to celebrate the occasion. Avery loved them.
Happy Birthday to our little sweet princess. You are all the good things life could ask for.
